About Us

Cave Creek Canyon and the Chiricahua Mountains are known worldwide as the province of the birdwatcher. They are also recognized as having some of the greatest varieties of species of insects, mammals, reptiles and plants in all the U.S.

The uniqueness of the area results from a rare combination of geological factors.  From the top of Mount Chiricahua to the entrance to the Canyon, all of the recognized ecological zones from Mexico to Hudson Bay, Canada are represented.  Thus, the unique biotic diversity of this small area is concentrated within a few miles.

The B&B:
One and one-half miles into Cave Creek Canyon is Birders' B&B located along Cave Creek, a rich riparian area.   Cave Creek Canyon is known as the location of the Elegant Trogon and for its abundant bird life.

Towering above Birders' B&B are the soaring rhyolite pinnacles and peaks of the Canyon.  On the Canyon floor, the B&B is located amidst 10 acres of huge Oak, Sycamore, Juniper, and Arizona Cypress that must have been old when the Chiricahua Apaches roamed these mountains. Cave Creek runs through the property that is surrounded on three sides by the Coronado National Forest with its wilderness area.

Quiet privacy is a prime offering in the separate 1930s stone guesthouse that has been renovated, Southwestern style. There are just two spacious rooms, each with private baths and patios, private phones with modem setups.  Both rooms are located close to Cave Creek.  One room has a comfortable queen-sized bed, sofa bed, shower and dressing room. The other is a handicapped accessible studio apartment with queen-sized bed, king-sized sofa bed, fully equipped kitchen, large bath with jacuzzi, and fireplace.
